The mission of the CMS Forum is to grow the awareness and practice of economically and environmentally beneficial chemical management services.

The CMS Forum is a program of the non-profit organization, the Chemical Strategies Partnership. It is a coalition of CMS providers, their customers, Tier II chemical suppliers, and other stakeholders interested in promoting chemical management services.

The CMS Forum was initiated by a group of leading CMS providers who believe a collective effort is necessary to grow the market for chemical management services. Among other activities, the CMS Forum will implement a targeted education campaign and promote the benefits of CMS to help produce a more receptive customer base.

Goals
The primary goals of the CMS Forum are to:

  1. Increase the market demand for chemical management services
  2. Document and promote the economic and environmental benefits of CMS
  3. Standardize CMS definitions to foster market development
  4. Provide a forum for CMS providers, their Tier II suppliers, and customers to access information, research, and networking opportunities

2008 Initiatives
The CMS Forum began operation in January 2000. The CMS Forum persues a range of initiatives, agreed upon by the membership at the beginning of each year. The Priority Activities for 2008 are:

A. Communications

  • Workshops & Trainings
    Host CMS Forum Annual Workshop
    Develop and execute pilot CMS Training program
  • Continue targeted placement of articles and present at key conferences
    Present at 3-5 conferences; publish 1-2 articles
  • Produce and distribute four CMS Insider newsletters
    Include quarterly updates on REACH and green chemistry
  • CMS Industry Report
    Publish 2008 Industry Report
  • Networking/Education calls
    Coordinate CMS Forum networking/education conference calls
  • International CMS Outreach
    Leverage CSP outreach activities in Europe and Asia

B. Program Administration/Operations

  • Respond to general information inquiries
  • Grow the membership base by recruiting new members
  • Coordinate Exec. Cmte calls
  • Update Strategic Plan

C. Case Studies

  • Gather and write new case studies representing a variety of different industries and CMS models.
  • Promote case studies through articles, website and internet mailings.
