Member Focus
CMS Forum
The mission of the CMS Forum is to grow the awareness and practice of economically and environmentally beneficial chemical management services." The Chemical Management Services (CMS) Forum, a member-based non-profit program, was launched in January 2000 by the Chemical Strategies Partnership (www.chemicalstrategies.org) and a group of three current CMS Forum members. The founding members believed that a collective effort is necessary to grow the market for CMS, to the benefit of all stakeholders. In the past two years the CMS Forum has grown to include 17 members from the CMS provider, manufacturing customer, and academic communities.

The primary goals of the CMS Forum are to:
  1. Increase the market demand for chemical management services
  2. Document and promote the economic and environmental benefits of CMS
  3. Standardize CMS definitions to foster market development
  4. Provide a forum for CMS providers, their Tier II suppliers, and customers to access information, research, and networking opportunities
CMS Forum staff work closely with members to establish priority activities and specific initiatives each year. In 2002, the CMS Forum will continue working to grow the CMS industry and make CMS a best practice in chemical management worldwide. Priority activities include an increasingly targeted communication campaign focused on key business and industry audiences, the convening of three regional and industry specific workshops, promoting the benefits of CMS to attract new members and help produce a more receptive customer base, and launching initiatives in both Asia and Europe. We welcome your interest and participation! For more information on the CMS Forum, or to become a member, visit the CMS Forum website.
